La eterna canción/The eternal song.


Una de mis canciones favoritas (y no es porque sea yo quien toque el bajo, bueno, tal vez si sea un poco de eso) se llama, La eterna canción.

Esta canción es de una banda que; ¿saben esas bandas que ya son grandes, solo que la gente aun no lo sabe? Bueno, así. Ya se enterarán, no falta mucho para eso. Por ahora, guardenme el secreto.

No diré el bombre de la banda, (ya la he bombrado bastante por estos medios).

La eterna canción tiene un rollo medio indie, medio baikan, medio otras cosas interesantes. Y no se, la hiperactividad que me genera es una de las cosas que me hace despertarme de la cama todas las mañanas.

Aquí les dejo un poquito, (no puedo darles mucho aun) de un ensayo/grabación de este tema.

Esta canción se llevó mas de un año para cobrar vida (entre otras cosas, por eso el nombre) y todavía no está del todo terminada, aun hay detalles generales; por mi parte, aun estoy dejando que el bajo me hable pero creo que con esto podrán entenderla un poco.

One of my favorite songs, and it’s not because I’m the one playing the bass, (well, maybe it’s a bit of that) is called La eterna canción (The eternal song.)

It’s from a band that… Do you know those bands that are already big, only that people still don’t know that? Well, that. You will find out, there is no much time left for that. For now, keep the secret for me.

I won’t say the name of the band, I’ve already mentioned it a lot around here.

La eterna canción is kind of indie, kind of baikan, kind of other interesting things. And, I don’t know, the hyperactivity that it generates is one of the things that makes me wake up from bed every morning.

Here I leave you a little bit (I can’t give you much yet) of a rehearsal/recording of this song.

This song took more than a year to come to life (among other things, that’s why it’s called that way), and it’s not quite finished yet. There are still general details. For my part, I’m still letting the bass speak to me, but I think with this you can understand it a little better.

Discovering new music/ Descubriendo nueva música.

En esta ocasión, quise compartir con ustedes un poco de música -no tan conocida- por todo el mundo, pero que siento que todo el mundo debería conocer. En esta ocasión les comparto un video de una presentación en vivo de una banda de música afrocubana llamada Irakere, súper talentosísimos genios precursores del Jazz latinoamericano. Todos los músicos integrantes de esta banda son unas bestias, y así lo han sido las diferentes alineaciones a través de los 40 años de su existencia (en esta agrupación, de la mano de Chucho Valdes, han tocado músicos como Paquito D’Rivera, Arturo Sándoval, y Orlando Valle, entre otros). Comprendo que tal vez sea un género de música un poco (a veces bastante) complicado de entender, pero se los recomiendo totalmente a todos por igual. Sin más nada que decir.

This time, I wanted to share with you some music not so well known all over the world, but that I feel everyone should listen to, at least once. No es la rutina de frecuentar los lugares donde existíamos, donde cada pisada se reconoce con las mismas calles, los mismos caminos laberinticos sin final preciso.

Es indagar en todos los techos de tantos edificios que inundan este hueco urbano donde nos descubrimos los verdaderos rostros

–donde nos palpamos la verdadera piel, esa que coexiste debajo de este disfraz blando y frágil de epidermis–

No es la depravada costumbre de caminar viendo el cielo, adivinando los pasos ciegos del trayecto.

Es abrir la boca y dejar salir un suspiro por todas las horas que huían de nosotros, acostados (desnudos) uno junto al otro, sobre aquel pedazo de cemento que algunos subestiman como techo.

Y como testigos únicos presenciales, la inmensidad del cielo y las miradas absortas de los peatones, que no comprendían (¿cómo iban a hacerlo?) la pulcra melodía que entonaban nuestros cuerpos.

‘Sup guys? I know I haven’t been posting enough these days and I already said that it is because I’ve been busy with bands things and all of that. So I decided to write a little about it so you get to know it once and for all.

This is Musanostra.


 Musanostra was born in 2011 as a band of young rebels who made indie-dance music. Over the years, with all the experiences, encounters and farewells, it became a family that walks united between Latin American folk, indie and the hope that gives the love for freedom.

 

In our melting pot of influences come Jorge Drexler, Devendra Banhart and Ali Primera, with the Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, RHCP and traditional Venezuelan music. The muses dance freely between styles, giving us the inspiration with which we composed after countless coffees, in countless early mornings.


They were winners of the New Bands East circuit and blablabla, that’s the least, the important thing is that they sound great and they are good people. In these moments I am playing (the bass) with them, as well as in other musical projects, but I’ll tell you about that later. I’ll share a little of a rehearsal here, another little here.

Right now we are finishing recording a promotional single with its respective video. (We have other videos out there in case you want to look at them but I look terrible so don’t look too much at them =) So yeah, rehearsals, gigs, and more rehearsals that take part of my time with my dear you; but I haven’t left, nor will I go!
